Real Game On Squid Game: Netflix Unveils Trailer

One of the few things that got us through covid, and lockdown, has to be the popular K-Drama – “Squid Game”. On Monday evening Netflix dropped the trailer for ‘Squid Game: The Challenge” and it left the fans ecstatic along with sending ripples across the internet world.

“Squid Game: The Challenge” is set to become a maestro in the world of reality television, offering the viewers a fresh view of their beloved K-Drama with real people participating in it and by no means are they going to be “acting”. This concept has been tried once before by the popular youtuber “Mr. Beast” with his video having garnered well over 500 million views, a staggering high number and with the production now in the hands of a media house as big as Netflix, the stage only gets bigger.

Based on the first series of the blockbuster dystopian drama, the trailer looks promising, and it seems to us that the series has been done justice as the iconic number “456” returns, with 456 contestants competing against each other for the grand price of 4.56 million dollars. As we can see from the trailer, the sets and challenges look like they are straight out of the original counterparts, yet that doesn’t mean that the viewers will not be treated with something new, as at one point we see that contestants have been asked to vote out two of the contestants, an event which never occurred in the original drama.

While ‘The Challenge’ won’t be out murdering its contestants for mere entertainment, it is by no means going to be a walk in the park as the contestants have been reported saying that they’ve been ‘tortured’ and ‘treated like animals’. This raises the tension evermore with all of us awaiting the release of this promising-looking show, hoping it to be the next big thing in the industry.
