Left-handed batsman Rinku Singh scored a blistering unbeaten half-century to lead Uttar Pradesh to an 87-run win over Nagaland in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy in Dehradun. Uttar Pradesh scored 187 runs for six wickets in 20 overs. Rinku played an unbeaten inning of 58 runs in 34 balls which included four fours and three sixes. Apart from him, openers Abhishek Goswami (36) and Nitish Rana (32) made their respective contributions.

In reply, Uttar Pradesh bowlers allowed Nagaland to score only 100 runs for seven wickets in 20 overs and won the match. Jaganath Sinivas (31 not out) scored the most runs for Nagaland. For Uttar Pradesh, Prashant Veer took the maximum of three wickets giving just seven runs in three overs. Apart from him, Nitish also contributed with the ball apart from the bat. He took two wickets for 24 runs in three overs. Yash Dayal and Jasmer got one wicket each.

Punjab wins over Manipur by eight wickets

Punjab team performed brilliantly in Ranchi on Saturday and defeated Manipur by eight wickets. In front of the brilliant bowling of fast bowlers Arshdeep Singh (2/21), Siddharth Kaul (2/25) and Mayank Markandey (2/19), Manipur team could score only 93 runs losing eight in 20 overs. In reply, Punjab won the match by scoring 94 runs losing two wickets in 9.2 overs. Opener Abhishek Sharma (53) scored a half-century. At the same time, Prabhsimran Singh returned unbeaten after scoring 30 runs.

Kerala defeated Chandigarh by seven runs

Kerala defeated Chandigarh by seven runs in the group match of Syed Mushtaq Ali T-20 Trophy. Kerala scored 193 runs for four wickets in 20 overs. Captain Sanju Samson played a half-century innings of 52 runs in 32 balls and hit four fours and three sixes. In reply, Chandigarh won the match by scoring 186 runs for six wickets in 20 overs. Captain Manan Vohra played an unbeaten quick inning of 95 runs. He hit nine fours and three sixes in 61 balls. However, he could not complete his century. For Kerala, Basil Thampi and Vinod Kumar got two wickets each.

Haryana lost to Baroda

With the help of Atit Seth (4/29) and captain Krunal Pandya (43 not out), Baroda defeated Haryana by five wickets in the group match of Syed Mushtaq Ali T-20 Trophy on Saturday. Haryana scored 155 runs for six wickets in 20 overs. Rahul Tewatia (54) scored the most runs for the team. He hit four fours and four sixes in his innings of 30 balls. In reply, Baroda won the match by scoring 156 runs for five wickets in 19 overs. For Haryana, Yuzvendra Chahal, Jayant Yadav, Amit Mishra, Nishant, Anshul Kamboj got one wicket each.

Mumbai defeated Jammu and Kashmir

Mumbai defeated Jammu and Kashmir by 37 runs in the group match. Mumbai scored 138 runs for five wickets in 20 overs with the help of a half-century from opener Yashasvi Jaiswal (50). Jammu and Kashmir’s Abid Mushtaq (2/15) took the most wickets. While chasing the target, Jammu and Kashmir team lost the match after being bundled out for 101 runs in 17.3 overs. Abdul Samad (38 not out) scored the highest runs for Jammu and Kashmir. Shams Mulani (3/18), Mohit (2/14) and Dhawal Kulkarni (2/16) made their respective contributions for Mumbai.
