Right now, no music director in the country enjoys a reputation and fan following like Anirudh. After the phenomenal success of ‘Jailer,’ ‘Jawan,’ and now ‘Leo,’ he is undeniably the number-one music composer in the country. He can be called the SS Rajamouli of music directors with no competition, whatsoever.
Anirudh is currently riding high on his popularity primarily due to his exceptional background scores. People are not even noticing that he is giving not-so-impressive songs, they are just blinded by the amazing BGM he is scoring these days.
While his songs in ‘Jawan,’ ‘Jailer,’ and ‘Leo’ may not have been particularly impressive, the rousing BGM he crafted for these films played a pivotal role in their blockbuster success.
Anirudh is currently composing music for six major projects, including NTR’s ‘Devara,’ Vijay Deverakonda and Gowtam Tinnanuri’s film, Ajith’s upcoming project, Rajinikanth’s ‘Thalaivar 170’ and ‘Thalaivar 171,’ and Shankar’s ‘Indian 2.’
NTR’s ‘Devara,’ directed by Koratala Siva, will be Anirudh’s next major release, scheduled for April 5, 2024. If Koratala can come up with high-voltage scenes like in ‘Mirchi’ and Anirudh composes a score like ‘Leo’ or ‘Jailer,’ then the sky is the limit for ‘Devara.’ It has the potential to become another ‘Simhadri’ for NTR.
