South Africa vs Bangladesh World Cup 2023 Live Score: Despite Mahmudullah smacking a gritty ton lower down the order, Bangladesh went down by 143 rungs against South Africa at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai during their league stage match on Tuesday.
Opener Quinton de Kock smashed his third century in five World Cup matches as South Africa scored a massive 382 for five against Bangladesh. De Kock, who struck centuries against Sri Lanka and Australia earlier in the World Cup, slammed 174 off 140 balls and shared two century partnerships with skipper Aiden Markram and Heinrich Klaasen at the Wankhede Stadium. For Bangladesh, Hasan Mahmud took two wickets, while Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Shoriful Islam, Shakib Al Hasan took a wicket each.

Bangladesh skipper Shakib-Al-Hasan returned to the side, replacing Tawhid Hridoy. Meanwhile, South Africa captain Temba Bavuma is yet to recover from a gastric illness and sat out as a “precautionary measure”. Proteas pacer Lungi Ngidi also missed out with with a knee niggle and they have brought in Lizaad Williams.
With three wins in four games, South Africa are placed third in the points table, on the other hand, Bangladesh have won only one in their four matches and are lying seventh.
