The highly anticipated 2024 Maruti Swift has been unveiled by Japanese automaker Suzuki at the Tokyo Motor Show. This new-generation Swift showcases a production-ready model with a revamped design language and a more upscale interior. In India, the all-new Swift is set to make its debut early in 2024, possibly in February, followed by the next-generation Dzire compact sedan. The majority of cosmetic changes are concentrated at the front fascia. The new Swift features a newly designed, larger grille with a gloss black and dark chrome finish, sharper headlamps with LED DRLs, a slightly flatter nose, and a revised bumper. On its side profile, the new Maruti Swift showcases restyled 16-inch wheels and different rear door handles. Of particular interest is the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) technology. While the showcased model includes the ADAS suite, it’s uncertain whether the India-spec model will feature this. The hatchback boasts a newly designed dashboard, a 10-inch infotainment system, and an AC console. The India-spec Swift is likely to draw inspiration from the Baleno and Grand Vitara, featuring a dual-tone (Black/White) interior theme, toggle switches for climate controls, a flat-bottom steering wheel, and analog dials.
New 2024 Maruti Swift Engine Details
The showcased model bears the ‘Hybrid’ badging, but the India-spec version is rumored to be equipped with a strong hybrid powertrain that will make it the most fuel-efficient car in the country. It’s speculated to deliver a mileage of around 35kmpl to 40kmpl. The entry-level and mid-spec variants are expected to retain the existing 1.2L K-Series petrol engine, producing 89bhp and 113Nm of torque. Transmission options will include 5-speed manual and AMT gearboxes.
New Maruti Swift Prices – Expected
The all-new Swift, with its strong hybrid powertrain, updated design, and feature-loaded interior, is expected to be priced at a premium compared to the current model. The strong hybrid version is estimated to cost approximately Rs 1 lakh to Rs 1.50 lakh more than its non-hybrid counterpart.
