Tata Motors has demonstrated its dominance in the Indian EV market, evident in their astounding sales performance in September 2023. The automaker achieved a staggering 57 percent growth in the electric vehicle segment. Their existing EV models, such as the Nexon.evTiago.ev, and Tigor.ev, have been pivotal in this success. In the same month, Tata Motors sold 6,050 electric cars, a significant increase from the 3,864 EVs sold in the corresponding period of the previous year.

Moreover, the second quarter of the current financial year saw Tata Motors sell 18,615 electric cars, marking an impressive 55 percent growth compared to the 12,041 units sold during the same period the previous year. This substantial growth not only highlights Tata Motors’ prowess in the EV segment but also augurs well for the imminent launches of the Punch.ev and Curvv.ev.

Tata Punch.ev – Before the End of 2023

The Tata Punch.ev is the first of the two electric SUVs and is all set to hit the Indian roads before the end of 2023. With the launch of the Punch.evthe company aims to deliver a compact, affordable, and eco-friendly urban mobility solution. While specific technical details are yet to be unveiled, the vehicle is expected to offer a choice between two battery pack options. Its estimated range on a full charge falls in the range of 200km to 300km. The model lineup is likely to consist of two variants, much like the updated Nexon.ev, including a Medium Range (MR) and a Long Range (LR) model.

Following closely in the footsteps of the Punch.ev, the Tata Curvv.ev is ready to arrive in the first half of 2024. This electric SUV is likely to cater to those seeking a more premium and spacious EV experience. Tata has recently confirmed that its forthcoming electric vehicles, including the Curvv.ev, will boast an impressive range, exceeding 500km on a single charge. The Curvv’s internal combustion engine (ICE) version is slated to arrive later, likely featuring Tata’s new 1.5L turbo petrol engine.
