TDP supreme and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday filed a house motion petition in AP high court seeking bail on health grounds.
Naidu’s advocates filed the petition stating that he required medical assistance. They said that Naidu underwent cataract surgery three months ago for one eye. Surgery is also required for another eye now, they said.
However, the AP high court dismissed the petition. It said that the anticipatory bail petition is being heard and there was no requirement at this point of time to admit the house motion. He told Naidu’s advocates to bring these issues when the anticipatory bail petition is taken up for hearing.
The court also directed the Rajamahendravaram jail officials to take steps for providing necessary treatment to Chandrababu Naidu in the jail. The court also directed the jail officials to place the medical record before the court on the next date of hearing.
Senior TDP leader Nimmakayala Chinarajappa also demanded that his application for bail be considered on health grounds. He wanted the courts to consider his age and his deteriorating health in Rajamahendravaram central jail.
He found fault with the jail officials for saying that Naidu doesn’t require cataract operation at this point of time. He said that this government was acting on political vendetta and using the police also for the same.
