After the Dussehra films, one of the films released by Tollywood this week is the film “Martin Luther King” directed by director Pooja Aparna Kollu as a remake of the Tamil film “Mandela” with burning star Sampuranesh Babu as the hero. Let’s find out how this movie is in the review.

Story:

If we come to the story…two brothers Jagajjivan Ram (Naresh) and Lok Manya Tilak (Venkatesh Maha) in a village called Padamarapadu will compete in the election to become the president of that village. But this election is somewhat divided into two groups. After the final election, the result will be equal for both. But the vote of an ordinary cobbler Smile (Sampoornesh Babu) stands as the deciding vote between the two. And what is the mystery behind this single vote? How the original story took a turn. To know the answer to the interesting questions of whom Smile has supported, you have to watch this film.

Plus Points:

One of the main strengths of the plot of this movie is the character of the protagonist. It was played by Yogi Babu in the original but Sampuranesh Babu was a perfect choice in the Telugu version. But it can be said that he not only set himself perfectly in this choice but also completed it with a very settled performance.

Also, actress Saranya Pradeep appears in a decent role and pleases. Actors Naresh and Venkatesh Maha also gave good performances in their roles. Also some comedy scenes in the movie are good. Also the climax portion was interesting.

Along with these, the background score for many scenes also seems to have a good impact. Finally, it is pleasing to show some sensitive issues like caste-related discrimination in our country in an impressive way in the movie.

Minus Points:

The film already has a good plot but the way it is presented is very flawed. Also, a bit engaging screenplay should have been designed in the first half. But in the absence of these, a good plot feels poor with a dull play.

Also, although some documents are good in the movie, it would have been better if they had been established and presented in a stronger way. Also, in some political satire dramas of this type, the more comedy scenes are tried, the more engaging the movie will be.

But there are so many such things in this movie, but there is not much in the movie except some scenes which are not seen. In addition to these, some more strong scenes would have given more impact to this film if good dialogues had also been put. Along with these, some scenes in the movie seem to be repeated. These can be a bit boring.

Technical category:

Build values are decent. According to the background of the movie, the producers have shot the movie naturally. And in the technical category, the music is good. Cinematography also impresses. Some unnecessary scenes should be reduced in editing.

And when it comes to the director Pooja… I don’t think there is any problem in her handling this remake in Telugu Nativity. But it would have been better if more care had been taken in the matter of narration. If Venkatesh Mahato had a more engaging screenplay, the output of the movie would have been better.

Verdict:

Overall, the concept of this “Martin Luther King” is good and the actor Sampuranesh Babu has done full justice to his role and the film seems okay till some scenes. But as a full-fledged film, it is not so impressive. Dull narration screen plays weaken the movie. And keeping these in mind, it is better if you try this movie with very low expectations.
