Lunar Eclipse 2023 Updates: On Saturday and Sunday nights, skygazers will get to watch the lunar eclipse. Tonight’s lunar eclipse or Chandra Grahan will be witnessed just 14 days after the Solar eclipse which occurred on October 14.

The partial lunar eclipse is set to commence at around 11:31 PM on Saturday (28 October) but the partial Umbral eclipse, which is more noticeable, will start in the early hours of October 29, at around 1:05 AM IST.

The lunar eclipse will become maximum at around 1:44 am and will end by 2:24 AM.

Tonight’s lunar eclipse will be visible from all parts of India. It will also be visible in other Asian countries, Europe, Africa, and North America.

Lunar Eclipse 2023: Though the Moon will enter penumbra at around midnight , the umbral phase will start at 01:05 AM. The eclipse will last for 1 hour and 19 minutes, as it is expected to end at 02:24 AM.

The cosmic event will be visible from all places of India around midnight. It will also be the region covering Western Pacific Ocean, Australia, Asia, Europe, Africa, eastern South America, north–eastern North America, the Atlantic Ocean, the Indian Ocean and the South Pacific Ocean.

The Kashi Vishwanath temple will stay open during the Sutak Kaal period of the Lunar Eclipse, the temple organizers said.

The moon will be partially eclipsed by the shadow of the earth for some time on 28 October.

A lunar eclipse is marked by two stages of the moon coming under the shadow of the earth. When it enters a partially shadowed region of the earth it is known as the penumbral eclipse, when the moon remains partly lighted.

During this time, the brightness will not be noticeable. After this phase moon will partially enter the actual dark part of the earth’s shadow which is termed an umbral lunar eclipse and is considered the actual eclipse by most people.
