Bangalore: Retired Nya| N.Y. Eight dignitaries including Hanumanthappa have been selected for the Maharshi Valmiki Award and the award will be presented at the Valmiki Jayanti program on Saturday.
Minister of Youth Services and Sports B. Nagendra informed about this in a press conference on Friday and the ceremony will be held in the banquet hall of Vidhansouda. Maharshi Valmiki Award will be given to eight achievers. The award is Rs 5 lakh. Said to have cash, 20 gram gold medal.
Retired Judge from the Judiciary N.Y. Hanumanthappa, Mahadevamma Rangaswamy (mother of Punyananda Puri Swamiji of Rajanahalli Maharshi Valmiki Gurpeeth) from religious field, Ramanna Mahadeva Gasti from Education field – Belgaum District, Social Service – Hassan’s G.O. Mahathappa, Somanna of Social Organization Constituency – Mysore District, Sharada Prabhu Huli Nayaka of Medical Services Constituency – Raichur District, Sukanya Maruthi of Literature Constituency – Vijayanagar District, Sujathamma of Bellary Theater Constituency have been selected for the award.
