V6 Owner Vivek Venkata Swamy is quitting the BJP and is likely to join Congress. V6 is the only prominent channel that supports BJP in Telangana.
Now, the channel will shift to Congress. V6 is consistently in the Top-4 in the BARC ratings.
On Saturday, PCC President Revanth Reddy went to Vivek’s Moinabad Guest House and had a detailed discussion.
Congress agreed to give Chennuru ticket to Vivek’s son Vamsi. With this, Vivek will contest for Peddapalli Parliament next year.
Vivek’s brother, former minister Vinod already got Bellampally’s ticket.
Telangana elections are just one month away. BRS has media support in the form of TV9. The support of V6 will be handy, Revanth Reddy believes.
Vivek’s father, Venkataswamy was a Congress party veteran. Vivek quit the party in 2013 and joined the TRS (now BRS), but returned to the national party before 2014. However, he lost the Assembly seat in the 2014 elections.
He again returned to the TRS after two years and then joined the BJP when he could not secure a ticket during the 2019 Parliament elections. Even that relationship is also ending now.
