Mangaluru, Oct 31: This year, Kannada Rajyotsava awards have been announced to recognise the contributions of 68 achievers from diverse domains. A total of 10 organisations and institutions also have been selected for these prestigious awards.
In undivided Dakshina Kannada district, the awardees include Charmadi Hasanabba for social service, Leelavathi Baipadithaya and Argodu Mohandas Shenoy for Yakshagana, Dr Prashanth Shetty for the medical field, Dinesh Amin Mattu for journalism and Haji Abdulla Parkala.
Awards are being given for the tireless efforts of 10 organisations and institutions working towards the welfare of Karnataka, which also includes the Dakshina Kannada’s Muslim Educational Institutions Federation and Maruthi Janaseva Sangha.
The Rajyotsava awardees this year encompasses achievers from various sectors such as music, dance, cinema, theatre, sculpture, painting, drawing, fine arts, sports, folklore, social service, administration, medicine, literature, education, sports, judiciary, environment, cultural, scientific, and freedom fighters, non resident Kannadigas and Gadinadu or border area Kannadigas.
