Burglars Loot Hindu Temple In California

In a shocking incident that unfolded in Sacramento, California, two culprits brazenly broke into the Hari Om Radha Krishna Mandir, a Hindu temple, and made off with the temple’s donation box, containing thousands of dollars.

The audacious theft occurred in the early hours of a Monday morning, prompting a rapid response from the Sacramento Police Department, who arrived at the temple on La Mancha Way around 2:15 AM.

Surveillance cameras captured the daring thieves dashing to the temple’s altar and swiftly making their way to the donation box, a massive container weighing nearly 100 pounds. The video footage showed the criminals snatching the hefty box, relocating it to a waiting getaway car behind the temple, and making a swift escape.

Guru Maharaj, the temple’s caretaker, revealed that the stolen funds were earmarked for a noble cause – the construction of a homeless center with 40 rooms, designed to aid those in need.

Despite the gravity of the incident, no arrests have been made as of now. The Coalition of Hindus of North America (CoHNA), an advocacy organization based in the US, issued a statement condemning the crime and urged the Sacramento Police to treat it as a potential hate crime and violation of a sacred space.

The incident serves as a harsh reminder of a similar burglary earlier this year in Texas, where burglars targeted the Shri Omkarnath Temple and stole its donation box.
