Sachin Tendulkar Statue At Wankhede: A magnificent statue of cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar will be unveiled on Wednesday on the eve of the World Cup match between India and Sri Lanka at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. In honor of Sachin Tendulkar, who celebrated his 50th birthday in April this year, Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) had said that Tendulkar’s statue will be installed at the Wankhede Stadium. Adjacent to the stand of Sachin Tendulkar in the stadium is a statue of him in a stroke-playing pose. The unveiling ceremony is expected to be attended by various dignitaries including Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Sachin Tendulkar himself, BCCI Secretary Jai Shah, Treasurer Ashish Shelar, Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) officials.
Ahmednagar-based painter-sculptor Pramod Kamble has created a statue of Sachin Tendulkar. While starting this work, Pramod Kamble said, ‘MCA had said that a statue will be installed in the Wankhede Stadium. I was called to work on it the day after it was announced. After that I contacted Sachin Tendulkar and met him.’

Kamble further said, ‘We discussed this in detail. I asked him how to make the statue. After this we did the pose finale, in which he is seen hitting a six. We first made a small model. After that a 14 feet tall statue has been made. A globe with graphics of a world map and a cricket ball is created and Sachin Tendulkar is depicted above it. We are also setting up a panel, which will give information about his career.’
Remarkably, ten years after Tendulkar played his last match at the Wankhede Stadium in the two-match Test series against the West Indies in 2013, this great honor will be inscribed in his veins.
