Along with Delhi-NCR, late night on 13th November, in Aligarh too, exactly one month after the earthquake, at 11.32 pm, intermittent strong tremors were felt for about two minutes. From the metropolis to the rural areas, the earthquake tremors were so strong that people got scared and came out of their homes. There was an atmosphere of chaos for a long time. People came out of their homes, establishments and offices.
For a long time, people kept wandering outside their homes fearing some untoward incident. During this time, fans, chairs, tables and other objects were seen moving. People kept checking on each other’s well-being over the phone till late night. Kept getting information about earthquake tremors from relatives and acquaintances present in other cities. However, no damage has been reported anywhere due to the earthquake. The intensity of the earthquake in Aligarh was about 5.5 on the Richter scale. After the earthquake, people remained busy getting related information on TV and social media.
Punita Chetan, director of Chetan Ashram of the metropolis, said that many objects were shaking during the earthquake. It felt as if something untoward was about to happen. Thankfully everything is fine. Lalit Varshney of Dubey Ka Padav told that he was watching TV at home when he felt the tremors of the earthquake. On this he came out of the house with his family members. Sanjay Sharma of Shyam Nagar told that at first he felt that he was feeling dizzy, but when some utensils started falling in the kitchen. Then they felt an earthquake. I felt scared for a long time. Navneet Bhardwaj of Devsaini and Vinod Upadhyay of RAF Road told that while sleeping they suddenly felt the earth rotating. Other family members also woke up fearing something untoward. It was revealed on television that an earthquake had occurred.
Seeing the news of earthquake in Delhi and NCR on TV or seeing earthquake related content on social media, discussions about earthquake intensified among people. The epicenter of the earthquake is said to be in Nepal. Earlier this year, earthquake tremors were felt in January, March and October. Earthquake tremors were felt on 3 October, exactly one month later earthquake tremors were felt again on 3 November.
