Team India is unbeaten with a 7/7 record in the ongoing cricket World Cup 2023 matches after the latest win against Sri Lanka. India defeated Sri Lanka by 302 runs and entered the semi-finals.
India is the first team to qualify for the Semi-finals of the 2023 World Cup on Thursday. The match between India and Sri Lanka was held in Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. India gave a target of 358 runs and with the bowlers’ dominance, the Sri Lanka team went out for just 55 runs.
Mohammed Shami emerged as the first bowler with the record of taking the highest number of wickets in World Cup matches. Shami registered 45 wickets in 14 innings. He got 14 wickets in just 3 matches. Siraj and Bumrah also troubled the Sri Lankan batsmen.
Indian batsmen scored 357 runs for 8 wickets with Shubman Gill scoring 92, Virat Kohli 88, and Shreyas Iyer 82. Sri Lankan bowler Dilshan Madushanka performed well with 5 wickets.
