Kannada Star Hero Siva Raj Kumar’s movie ‘Ghost’ was released in Kannada on October 19 on the occasion of Vijaya Dashami. This movie has recently come before the Telugu audience. And let’s see how much this movie impressed the audience..
Story:
Big Daddy alias Ghost (Shiva Rajkumar) targets a jail with his gang. Former CBI officer Vaman Srinivas (Prasanth Narayanan) has already fought for 10 years and gets permission from the government for the privatization bill of the prison. Vaman gets a big shock when he goes to do Bhumi Puja properly. Big Daddy kidnaps him and takes over a tower in the prison. So the government brings in Charan Raj (Jayaram) to solve this case. So who is this Big Daddy?, what is his past?, why did he become a ghost?, and why did he target that jail?, what is the connection between Vaman Srinivas and Big Daddy? That is the rest of the story.
Plus Points:
In this gangster drama Ghost, Siva Rajkumar looked very wild in a larger than life character. He impressed with his terrific performance in the powerful role. With his aggressive body language, dominating characterization and modulation, Siva Rajkumar does perfect justice to his role. Moreover, Siva Rajkumar impressed with new looks in this movie than in his previous movies.
Another main attraction of this film is Jayaram. He impressed with his timing as always. Jayaram’s performance is very good especially in some key scenes. Anupam Kher who appeared in the role of the father impressed with his performance. Archana Joyce, Prashanth Narayanan, Sathya Prakash, Abhijeet and the rest of the cast also performed well in the scope of their roles. The director has shot some key scenes well with high technical values.
Minus Points:
Even if the main plot of this movie is not diverse, at least it should be an interesting saga. That too is missing in this ghost story. Although MG Srinivas as a director has written a good story background, he could not make the movie interesting with an interesting story. Boring scenes here and there cause some trouble. Moreover, while watching this film, regular action dramas are remembered.
Above all else, not a single emotion is strongly elevated in the film. In fact, even though the hero’s character was designed emotionally in the climax, it did not work out on the screen. Although most of the movie takes place in the action and investigation point of view, the tension of what’s next is not strong anywhere, which is another weakness of this ghost movie.
Although this ghost movie is mainly a genre that connects well with the mass audience, director MG Srinivas could not establish the elements that would appeal to the mass audience in the movie, except for the impressive action here and there. Moreover, ending with a very mild investigation in this film is not very pleasant.
Technical Department:
Director MG Srinivas took a good story idea, but did not write a new treatment according to that idea. Although the film has scope to increase interest with suspense, the play has been handled in a simple manner. Coming to the music…Arjun Janya’s music is very good. Cinematography by Mahendra Simha is good. Mahendra Simha has shot the scenes well according to the mood of the movie. Although the editing is good, it would have been better if the scenes which were not necessary for the story had been trimmed. Sandesh Nagaraj’s production values in the movie are very good.
Verdict:
The movie titled ‘Ghost’ has some action sequences and Shivraj Kumar’s wild performance is good. However, logic-less scenes along with boring play are the minuses of the movie, an action drama that fails to generate interest. Also dubbing is not good. Overall, although some action elements are good in this movie, the movie is not connected.
