Chinnamma Fight Troubles BJP High Command

Daggubati Purandeshwari

Purandeshwari, the President of the BJP in Andhra Pradesh, has been actively taking on the YS Jagan government without significant support from the state party wing or the high command. Since her appointment as the state BJP President, many were curious about how she would navigate the political landscape, especially if the BJP high command were to support YS Jagan.

Purandeshwari has been consistently challenging alleged irregularities in the YS Jagan government. While some YSRCP leaders initially ignored her, the situation has begun to change due to her sustained efforts. For example, she filed a complaint about the YSRCP government’s violation of the Fiscal Responsibility and Budget Management (FRBM) limit to Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. However, Nirmala Sitharaman indirectly supported YS Jagan in Parliament while concealing certain facts.

Purandeshwari has also written a letter to Amit Shah, seeking a CBI inquiry into Jagan’s alleged involvement in a liquor scam. In addition, she sent a letter to the Chief Justice of India (CJI) regarding the cancellation of bail for Vijay Sai Reddy, who is an accused (A-2) in various cases against Jagan.

In her letter, Purandeshwari detailed the reasons for seeking the cancellation of Vijay Sai’s bail, including allegations of threatening individuals and engaging in illegal activities. She also highlighted instances of alleged wrongdoing when he was in charge of YSRCP activities in Uttarandhra. Purandeshwari’s actions have caught the YSRCP off guard.

The YSRCP is now reportedly wondering whether Purandeshwari’s actions are backed by the BJP’s leadership. It remains to be seen how Amit Shah will respond to her letter, and the BJP’s stance is expected to be clarified after the Telangana elections. The developments may have implications for the upcoming elections in Andhra Pradesh, particularly if the BJP’s response becomes a contentious issue in the state’s political landscape.
