Hero MotoCorp has showcased a new range of bikes and scooters at the EICMA 2023 in Milan, Italy. With the new showcase, Hero has also confirmed that it is planning to enter the European markets including Spain, France and the UK by mid-2024. The company has unveiled three concept vehicles and three production-ready vehicles at EICMA.
Hero MotoCorp has showcased two new ICE scooters – the Xoom 125R and the Xoom 160 at the show. It also unveiled the VIDA V1 Pro for Europe and UK markets. Adding to it, a new Concept 2.5R XTunt is showcased and it previews a high-capacity premium motorcycle. Hero MotoCorp has also unveiled two EV concepts – the Lynx and Acro. Both EVs have been developed at the company’s European R&D hub – the Tech Center Germany, near Munich.
Hero MotoCorp has announced that it will enter Europe with its electric vehicle brand VIDA. The VIDA V1 will be the first product to launch in Spain and France in 2024. Adding to it, the company will also introduce its premium range of ICE motorcycles and scooters in Europe.
Hero Vehicles At EICMA 2023
1. Zero 125R
Hero claims that the new Xoom 125R scooter’s design attributes are inspired from a flight of a Falcon. The new model is based on a new 14″ platform that is claimed to offer increased stability and aggressive styling with perfect aerodynamics. It comes with advanced LED lighting package with first-in-segment Sequential LED winkers and digital speedometer with bluetooth connectivity & turn-by-turn navigation. It is powered by a 125cc engine, which is claimed to offer fast acceleration.
2. Hero Zero 160
Joining the Xoom 125R is the new Hero Xoom 160, which is a sporty looking maxi scooter. The scooter is powered by a 156cc liquid cooled engine with enhanced i3s silent start tech (idle stop & silent start system). The scooter offers 14″ large wheels with block pattern wide tires for better stability, a Smart Key with Keyless Ignition, Remote Seat Opening, Smart Find, and dual chamber LED headlamp & LED tail-lamp.
3. Concept 2.5R XTunt
This concept previews an aggressive looking streetighter, which is claimed to be designed for the “new-age thrill-seeker, a rider who craves an adrenaline-infused urban adventure.” The motorcycle is based on a lightweight chassis, and features a powerful engine and advanced technology. The liquid-cooled engine of the Xtunt is incorporated in a trellis frame with USD front forks and adjustable monoshock rear suspension. It also features high-end features like active-aero technology and Follow me drone.
4. LIFE V1 Pro
This scooter is already on sale in our market since October 2022. This electric scooter holds the Guinness World Record for the greatest distance (1,708km) traveled by an electric scooter in 24 hours. The electric scooter comes with two removable batteries and flexible charging options. It offers features such as custom mode, cruise control, boost mode, two-way throttle, key-less access and an over-the-air enabled 7-inch TFT touch-screen.
5. VIDA V1 Coupe
This is an accessorised version of the Vida V1 Pro. With an accessory, customer can transform the scooter into a slick single seater and back to a two-seater as per the need and style.
6. Concept Lynx (Off-road electric motorcycle)
This previews a new medium-sized off-road focused motorcycle, which is designed to offer best ride and handling characteristics with lowest possible weight. The company claims that the “Lynx features a design that mirrors the tenacity of the lynx cat.” The motorcycle is based on a robust and agile frame, which makes it ready to tackle the challenging trails and terrains.
It is designed with patent pending suspension geometry for better weight distribution. Hero claims that “the new type of frame construction allows us to provide best in class front to rear weight distribution resulting in great handling characteristics.” The electric motorcycle features a high-performance motor, which is designed to deliver high power and torque right from 0 rpm. With a mobile application the parameters like regenerative braking and traction control can be customized.
7. Concept Acro (Kid’s Electric Bike)
This concept previews a new entry-level electric bike for kids. It is based on a 3-point adjustable frame, which can be adjusted under 2 minutes without needing any tools to adjust. The e-bike can be used for child aging between 3 to 9 years. A patent pending adjustable mechanism allows the user to adjust the seat height, the length of bike and handlebar position, to make sure the ergonomics and ride is uncompromised in each of the 3 sizes of the bike. The batteries used for regular home appliances can be used for easy swap & intra compatibility.
It comes with customizable speed settings which ensure a gradual transition as the child gains confidence and skill. The geo fencing feature allows the parents to control the area of operation. A quick disable button prevents any mishap.
