New 2024 Kia Carnival Interior Revealed – What All Has Changed?

In recent days, we were granted a sneak peek at the forthcoming Kia Carnival luxury MPV, representing the next generation of the model. The company has now unveiled an image showcasing the interior of this new model, revealing intriguing details. While the fundamental cabin layout remains unchanged, there is a new dual-tone color scheme that commands attention.

One of the most notable enhancements in this iteration is the introduction of a dual-screen setup. The first screen is dedicated to the cutting-edge touchscreen infotainment system, complete with the latest smartphone connectivity features. The second screen is designated for the digital cluster. The center console has been freshly redesigned, featuring touch-based buttons and a novel rotary knob for gear selection, providing an modernized feel.

It is worth noting, however, that the 2024 Kia Carnival retains its familiar dashboard and steering wheel. The comprehensive list of features for this MPV is still pending disclosure by the manufacturer. Reports have suggested that the MPV might incorporate new seat upholstery, sourced from the EV9 model, along with an advanced ADAS suite. This suite is expected to provide functionalities such as adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane assist, and blind spot monitoring, among others.

Turning our attention to the design aspects, the new Carnival boasts a broad front grille adorned with chrome accents, L-shaped headlamps equipped with distinctive daytime running lights, and a more upright front fascia. The front bumper features a modest air intake encircled by an imitation brushed aluminum skid plate. The newly designed alloy wheels closely resemble those found on the globally acclaimed EV5 and EV9 SUV models. At the rear, the MPV sports the same L-shaped taillamps, interconnected by an LED light bar, in addition to a matte black bumper accented with subtle chrome detailing.

2024 Kia Carnival specs

In global markets, the 2024 Kia Carnival will be available with a choice of three engine options, encompassing two petrol and one diesel powerplant. Notably, the MPV has received an update in the form of a 1.6-liter turbo petrol hybrid powertrain, delivering an impressive 227bhp and 350Nm of torque. For the Indian market, it is expected to retain the existing 2.2-liter diesel engine, capable of producing a peak power output of 200bhp and 440Nm of torque. The transmission duties will be handled by an 8-speed ‘Sportsmatic’ automatic gearbox.

In India, the new Kia Carnival is anticipated to make its debut in 2024 as a CKD (completely knocked down) unit.
