Top 10 Selling SUVs – Tata Nexon No.1, Scorpio Beats Creta

The Indian auto industry is witnessing a robust growth and plays an important role in country’s economic development. Automakers have released their sales number for the month of October 2023 and most of them posted positive sales growth. SUVs are still dominating the segment with 14 models in the list of top 25 selling cars in the month of October. In this article, we talk about the top 10 selling SUVs in the month of October 2023.

The Tata Nexon has managed to outsmart all its rivals to secure the top position in the list. In fact, the sub-4 meter SUV beats Baleno in October sales to secure 3rd position in the list of best selling car. Tata Motors sold 16,887 units of the Nexon last month as compared to 13,767 units in October 2022, reporting an impressive YoY sales growth of 23%.

Maruti Suzuki Brezza is at the second position with 16,050 units sold in October 2023 as against 9,941 units in the same month last year. The SUV has reported an impressive 61% Year-on-Year sales growth. The big news comes in the form of Tata Punch, which manages to beat the likes of Creta and Seltos to grab 3rd position in the list of top 10 selling SUVs. Tata Motors has sold 15,317 units of the Punch last month, a YoY increase of 39%, as against 10,982 units in the same month last year.

Maruti Brezza Black Edition

Mahindra Scorpio nameplate (Scorpio Classic & Scorpio-N) is at the 4th position with a massive YoY salkes growth of 83 percent. Mahindra sold 13,578 units of the Scorpio last month as against 7,438 units in October 2022. The Hyundai Creta slips to 5th position with 13,077 units sold last month. The SUV has reported a year-on-year sales growth of 10 per cent, as it sold 11,880 units in October 2022.

The newly launched Kia Seltos has been in a great demand, and contributes to over 40 per cent of brand’s sales in India. Kia sold 12,362 units of the Seltos in October 2023 as compared to 9,777 units in the same month last year, reporting a YoY sales growth of 26 percent. The Hyundai Venue and the Maruti Fronx are at 7th and 8th position respectively. Hyundai sold 11,581 units of the Venue in Oct 2023, reporting a YoY sales growth of 21% (9585 units in Oct 2022). On the other hand, MSIL sold 11,357 units of the Fronx crossover last month.

New Kia Seltos Prices

Maruti Suzuki’s mid-sized SUV, the Grand Vitara slips to 9th position with 10,834 units sold last month, registering an impressive 35% YoY sales growth. The company had sold 8,052 units in the same month last year. The Mahindra Bolero is at 10th position with 9,647 units sold last month, registering a 10% YoY sales growth.
