Interesting action drama “Japan” directed by director Raju Murugan starring Kollywood’s talented hero Karthi and Anu Emmanuel as heroine. And let’s find out in the review how impressive this film, which was released with good buzz in Telugu and Tamil as a gift for Diwali.
Story:
If we come to the story…the sage of Japan (Karthi) is a well-known thief in India, but he mostly steals only gold. One day a huge gold robbery worth 200 crores takes place in Royal Jewelers in Hyderabad. And all this is in the pattern of Japan, the police will enter the field. Among them, Sridhar (Sunil), an investigation officer, and Police Bhavani (Vijay Milton), will enter the field. Did they catch Japan from there or not? We have to watch this movie to know if Japan is really behind the theft or if there is someone else.
Plus Points:
It must be said that the main highlight of this film is the original Karthi’s character. It must be said that if the director presents it very differently, it will be more special than that, but Karthi has won the hearts with his unique performance. Although he has already appeared in different getups in Sardaar, it can be said that the character of Japan will be seen as a more special role in his career. Apart from that, Japanese manners generate good fun.
Also, the action blocks in the movie are good with some comedy bits here and there. Apart from that, actor Sunil has once again shined in an interesting role in a Kollywood movie. Along with him, Bhavani Patradardu and others acted well in the scope of their roles. And the small emotional bit in the climax feels okay.
Minus Points:
And when it comes to the disappointing aspects of this film, what is not seen in the film is such a great narration. The director has designed a unique character, Japan, but it seems to be presented in a very limited way.
Also, the first half is the same, but the second half of the movie is still dull. Along with these, there are not many impressive emotions or twists in the movie. This makes the movie feel poor in many places.
Here and there, Karthi’s comedy breaks out of them, but without that, the film would have felt more boring. In addition to this, there is no proper scope for Emmanuel’s role as the heroine. Appears and disappears in very limited screen time.

The production values are good in this film. And when it comes to the technician team.. GV Prakash’s music is good. His score songs are impressive. Ravi Varman’s cinematography is also good. Karthi’s costumes are impressive. The editing has been done impressively with only Telugu dubbing. Trendy dialogues are good.
When it comes to the director Raju Murugan.. I have to say that he has given just okay work to this movie. Apart from Karthi’s characterization, there are no impressive elements in the film. Here and there he provided a bit of comedy narration but some of the scene twists seem to have been seen already. With these, his work remains average.
Verdict:
Overall, Karthi impresses with his good performance in this “Japan”. A new Karthi will be seen with comedy, emotions and actions that his fans want and the comedy here and there in the movie will generate good fun. Apart from these, there are not so many interesting things in the movie. With these, it is better to watch this film with low expectations.
