The Suzuki Celerio is the most fuel efficient car on sale in our market. It is powered by a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine that also powers the WagonR and the Alto K10. In the petrol mode, the powertrain produces 66bhp and 89Nm of torque. The CNG version offers 56bhp of power and 82Nm of torque. The hatchback is claimned to return a certified fuel economy of 25.17kmpl with manual gearbox and 26.23kmpl with AMT unit. The CNG version returns an ARAI certified fuel economy of 34.43km/kg.

Maruti Suzuki WagonR

2022 Maruti WagonR Features

Known for its practical cabin, the Maruti Suzuki WagonR is the top-selling model in the country. The tall-boy hatchback is available with two engine options – a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder NA petrol and a 1.2-litre 4-cylinder NA petrol – producing 66bhp/89Nm and 89bhp/113Nm respectively. The 1.0L engine is also offered with a factory-fitted CNG Kit. While running on CNG, this powertrain produces 56bhp and 82.1Nm of torque.

The 1.0L petrol manual and AMT versions are claimed to offer an ARAI certified fuel economy of 24.35kmpl and 25.19kmpl respectively. The 1.2L manual and AMT claim to return 23.56kmpl with manual gearbox and 24.43kmpl with AMT gearbox. The CNG version is rated at 34.05km/kg.

This engine is capable of producing 89bhp of power and 113Nm of torque. Transmission choices include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT. In the CNG mode, the powertrain produces 76bhp and 98.5Nm of torque.

The Maruti Suzuki Baleno manual and AMT claim to return a certified fuel economy of 22.35kmpl and 22.9kmpl respectively. In the CNG mode, the powertrain offers a fuel efficiency of 30.61km/kg.

Tata Altroz

The Tata Altroz is the safest hatchback on sale in our market. Not just the safest, it is only model available with both petrol and diesel engine options.
