The World Cup final game between India and Australia is to commence in around 24 hours from now. The match will kick off at 2 PM on 19 November at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Needless to say, this World Cup finale is carrying humongous hype amongst cricket followers. In accordance, everyone associated with the game and the commute to the same are looking to cash in on the hype.
Going into the story, a standard ticket from Hyderabad to Ahmedabad is usually in the range of Rs 6000. But for 18 November, a day before the final, the ticket is priced at Rs 39,000. The return ticket for 20 November, a day after the finale is Rs 37,000. The flight tickets for the trip are Rs 76,000. This would usually be Rs 12,000 round trip if it wasn’t the World Cup.
This is due to the World Cup fever, making the commute from Hyderabad to Ahmedabad one of the costliest trips in India currently. The flight ticket from Bengaluru is comparatively cheaper – Rs 25,000.
Even basic hotels in Ahmedabad are charging in upwards of Rs 10,000 while a few star hotels have gone from Rs 25,000 per night to a staggering Rs 2,50,000 per night.
