With a significant increase in Telugu students pursuing masters in the U.S., there has been a rise in unfortunate incidents.
Hemanth Yallanki, a 24-year-old graduate student in the School of Computer Science and Information Systems, hails from Chinnakammapalli village, Andhra Pradesh. He was found dead on the university campus.
University President Lance Tatum sent a mass email on November 17, informing students, faculty, and staff of Hemanth’s passing.
The Northwest University Police Department mentioned that Yallanki’s body was found in the wooded area between the University Wellness Center and the Maryville Community Center.
Police stated that foul play is not suspected, and the investigation remains ongoing. The exact cause of his suicide remains unknown.
