Israel-Hamas War News Live Updates (November 19): At least 30 premature babies were evacuated from Gaza’s main hospital and will be transferred to facilities in Egypt, the territory’s Health Ministry said, as scores of other critically wounded patients remained stranded there days after Israeli forces entered the compound. A United Nations team described the hospital as a “death zone”. The World Health Organisation, which led the mission to the hospital, said more teams will attempt to reach Al-Shifa in coming days to try to evacuate the patients to southern Gaza, where hospitals are also overwhelmed.

Meanwhile, the United States, Israel, and the Palestinian militant group Hamas have reportedly reached a tentative agreement to free dozens of women and children held hostage in Gaza, in exchange for a five-day pause in fighting, according to the Washington Post, which cited people familiar with the deal. The report also said that the pause, which is also expected to bring in significant humanitarian aid, would be monitored by aerial surveillance.

Death toll so far: More than 11,500 Palestinians have been killed, according to Palestinian health authorities cited by an AP report. Another 2,700 have been reported missing, believed buried under rubble. The count does not differentiate between civilians and militants, and Israel says it has killed thousands of militants, AP added.
