Team India Fails In The Finals Yet Again!

The boys in blue were the favorites; they thought it was their fate to lift the trophy on their home ground. But fate is funny; it likes to play with your mind and happiness. And India becomes the next prey for the game of fate as Australia smiles and sits on the throne comfortably.

Before coming to the battle, India was the heartbeat; they were the invisible, the undefeated. Every fan uttered the same name; every song chanted the same mantra. It was India’s time; it was India’s fate.

But Australia had other plans; Travis Head had other plans. India, though having a fiery start, didn’t manage to follow it up with runs. Although Kohli and KL Rahul made attempts to be the pillars of the innings, like golden Rome, India’s batting crumbled.

Scarcity of boundaries and solid partnerships led India to have a tiny total of 240 and lose all their wickets. The commendable part is Australia’s strategy as they had no intention to leave it to fate. Aussies had different strategies for all of India’s batters, and the discipline they showed is just commendable.

India’s batting record for the tournament has been the absolute best, but Aussies challenged them like nothing else.

As Australia started to bat, India didn’t give them an easy start as well. Though they managed to hit some big shots, India took consecutive wickets as well. Shami and Bumrah managed to give India some quick breaks, as back then, the scoreboard read 47/3.

But Travis Head planned to be the head of the table as he just turned the fate for both teams. Coming out as the opener, Head scored a century, which became the solid groundwork for the batting. Then he was paired with Marnus Labuschagne, who is slowly but surely becoming Mr. Dependable for the Aussies. With a half-century, with 99 balls, he neutralized India’s entire bowling lineup.

Head, even departed, went out as hero as Maxwell finished it off. With seven wickets in hand, they came out victorious.

Australia easily and flawlessly chased the target even after the three early departures. Head was the one who controlled the match, silenced the Ahmedabad crowd of 1 lakh 30 thousand people, and helped Australia lift their 6th World Cup. They are the champions.

India, with this defeat, continues their underwhelming performance in the knockouts. They are indeed one of the superpowers of cricket, if not the most fierce team, but as soon as one plan fails, they crumble. This defeat, you can’t blame it on fate, as Australia was the better team; they played like champs.

The team that looked so solid throughout the tournament is out with just one bad match; that’s how competitive the sport is. Just from the toss, Australia outsmarted, outplayed them in every aspect of the game.

The team has been outstanding through and through, and we shall take only positives from it. Some new heroes will take the team forward, and we shall commend how many good moments the boys in blue gifted.

The nation will now feel the wave of sadness as we came a bit short. But with every destruction, there is always the hope of building something new. India will now be better and stronger for the upcoming T-20 World Cup and lift the trophy in 2024.
