Mahindra XUV.e9 SUV Interior Details & Launch Timeline

In August 2023, Mahindra & Mahindra unveiled a visionary lineup of five electric SUVs, neatly divided into two distinct sub-brands – XUV.e (comprising XUV.e8 and XUV.e9) and BE (encompassing BE.05, BE.07, and BE.09). These upcoming electric SUVs from Mahindra will find their common ground on the brand’s innovative INGLO platform, sharing a unified battery module while boasting different power outputs.

Leading the charge for production are the XUV.e8 and XUV.e9 EVs, anticipated to grace the roads in late 2024 and early 2025, respectively. The XUV.e8 stands as the electric rendition of the popular XUV700 SUV, while the XUV.e9 emerges as an entirely new 5-seater SUV-coupe.

The recently captured test mule of the Mahindra XUV.e9, albeit heavily camouflaged, partially unveiled its design elements. Noteworthy features include full-width LED lighting elements and taillamps with an LED light band, flush door handles, and a gracefully raked roofline extending into the rear. The final production version is expected to maintain fidelity to its concept, characterized by bumper-mounted headlamps, a closed-off grille, and prominent gloss-black cladding throughout.

Crucially, Mahindra’s forthcoming electric SUVs will share a common battery module, indicating that the XUV.e9 will share its powertrain with the XUV.e8. The model is poised to offer various battery pack options, with the range-topping variant boasting a dual motor setup, an 80kWh battery, and an AWD system. Projected power figures ranging from 230bhp to 350bhp and an estimated range of 435km-450km under WLTP testing norms.
