Maruti Suzuki, with a bold vision for the Indian automotive market, is set to implement an aggressive product strategy. In a recent interview, R.C Bhargava, the Chairman of Maruti Suzuki, confirmed the company’s ambitious plan to augment its product lineup by introducing five new Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) models by the year 2031. There are indications that the powertrain might be sourced from the Grand Vitara, offering consumers the choice of the familiar 1.5L K15C petrol mild hybrid or the 1.5L Atkinson cycle options, delivering 103bhp and 115bhp, respectively.
To accommodate the production demands of the new three-row SUV, Maruti Suzuki has designated its recently established Kharkhoda facility as the production hub. Upon its launch, the 7-seater SUV will enter a competitive market, challenging vehicles such as the Hyundai Alcazar and Mahindra XUV700.
Rumors are circulating that Maruti Suzuki may also introduce an affordable MPV to compete with the Kia Carens, priced between Rs 10.45 lakh and Rs 19.45 lakh (ex-showroom).
