Tiger 3 box office collection day 12: Salman Khan’s woes at the ticket windows seem to be continuing, despite the spy action-thriller having passed the Rs 250 crore mark domestically and the Rs 400 crore mark worldwide.
Salman Khan‘s Tiger 3 finally passed the Rs 250 crore at the domestic box office, after collecting Rs 4.7 crore on day 12 of release, according to industry tracker Sacnilk. While this is the star’s best box office performance since 2017’s Tiger Zinda Hai, which it is trailing in the domestic market by Rs 80 crore. Tiger 3 is also trailing the Hrithik Roshan-starrer War by over Rs 130 crore domestically, and Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan by nearly Rs 300 crore.
The only film in YRF’s Spy Universe that Tiger 3 has outperformed is the first one, Ek Tha Tiger, which was released over a decade ago. In that decade, Salman has become a ubiquitous presence thanks to his many years as the host of television reality show Bigg Boss, and has suffered a string of setbacks, with each of his movies post Tiger Zinda Hai underperforming at the box office.

Directed by Maneesh Sharma and co-starring Katrina Kaif and Emraan HashmiTiger 3 had a strong opening day of Rs 44 crore, that too on Diwali (a Sunday), and managed to hold its ground till Bhai Dooj two days later. But since then, collections have nosedived. A part of the reason for this could be the middling reviews that it received, which also mirror the audience’s sentiments about the movie.
Pathaan, on the other hand, rode a wave of goodwill for Shah Rukh Khan on its way to over Rs 520 crore domestically and more than Rs 1000 crore worldwide. Tiger 3’s current worldwide total stands at just over Rs 400 crore, which means that it is yet to overtake War, Tiger Zinda Hai and Pathaan, and is the second-lowest grossing film of YRF’s ambitious shared universe. It is widely believed that the movie should’ve done better, considering its reported budget of Rs 300 crore, cameos by SRK and Hrithik, and zero competition.
