USCIS announced a policy change for visa slot booking for students. The USCIS states that the policy change which will be implemented beginning Nivember 27, 2023 is to prevent fraud and abuse of the appointment system.
All students visa applicants of F, M, and J must use their own passport information when creating a profile and scheduling their visa appointment.
Applicants who booked an appointment with profiles having incorrect passport number will not be accepted at the Visa Application Centers (VAC). Not just the appointments will be canceled but also the visa fee will not returned.
Applicants who passports are renewed recently should provide a photocopy or other evidence of the old passport number to proceed for their appointment.
