Telangana elections saga will come to an end tomorrow, 3rd December with the counting to be wrapped up by the end of the day tomorrow. Incidentally, there is a great deal of anticipation on who will be Congress’s CM candidate with the likes of Revanth Reddy, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Bhatti Vikramarka, and others staking their claim.
Coming to the point, there is an interesting discussion on who could be the new CM candidature aspirant from Congress.
In a public meeting the other day, Rahul Gandhi said that in the next 10 years, Congress aims to have women chief ministers in 50% of the states where Congress formed the government. This statement coming right before Telangana results has caught the attention.
Adding to that, observers are bringing back Revanth Reddy’s comment in the past where he said Congress will have Mulugu constituency lady MLA Seethakka as the chief minister.
With these developments, there is a parallel narrative that Seethakka could well be a favorite for the CM chair if Congress comes to power. Notably, Seethakka has been one of the strongest MLAs from Congress as gained an image by fighting for the agency area people in Telangana assembly. There are times when even BRS MLAs appreciated her in the assembly.
But overhauling Revanth and coming first in the CM race in Telangana Congress is tough. We have to see how things turnout. But for Congress, the immediate need is to come to power first.
