Arrah Axis Bank Robbery: The bank robbery that took place in Arrah, Bihar on Wednesday gave sleepless nights to the police. The robbers not only looted around Rs 16 lakh but also dodged the police. The accused committed the robbery in just 4 minutes. Then they locked the bank employees in the room and ran away. He also locked the door from outside. Everyone thought that the robbers were in the bank, this created panic in the area. The police surrounded the bank from all sides. From SP to all other police officers reached the spot. The police kept appealing from outside to surrender the accused. After about one and a half hour, the police broke the door and entered inside. So the robbers were not found inside. Policemen rescued the bank employees held hostage.
SP Pramod Kumar Yadav said that at 10.15 am on Wednesday, 5 criminals entered Ara Axis Bank with weapons. They locked the bank employees in a room. Then they ran away with around Rs 16 lakh kept on the counter within just 4 minutes. After some time, the bank employees informed the police over phone. The employees told the police that the robbers were inside the bank.
As soon as the information was received, the police reached the spot and surrounded the bank. SP Pramod Kumar himself took charge. Police felt that the criminals were still inside the bank, so the criminals were asked to surrender from outside. When there was no movement for a long time, the police entered the bank. After going inside it was found that the robbers were not in the bank. The police evacuated the bank employees safely. Then checked the CCTV footage. The footage revealed that the criminals looted the money and ran away within 4 minutes. The amount kept in the bank chest was saved as it was not opened.
While leaving, the miscreants broke the CCTV camera of the main gate of the bank. Police are scanning the footage of other CCTV cameras. Till now, faces of five miscreants are said to be captured in CCTV. The police is busy identifying them.
First two miscreants entered posing as customers, then others came with weapons
According to the information, first two miscreants entered the bank posing as customers. He talked about opening an account. After that his other companions came inside. It is being told that all those who committed the robbery were new boys. It looked as if he was going to do coaching. Only one of the robbers was wearing a mask. Initially no one became suspicious as his face was not covered.
Crowd of people outside the bank, road jam
The Axis Bank of Ara where the robbery took place is located on Circuit House Road. This is one of the busiest areas of the city. There is a Domino's Pizza outlet just below Axis Bank. There is also ICICI Bank and Honda showroom in the front. As soon as the information about the robbery was received, a huge crowd of people gathered on the road outside the bank. Due to this the road got jammed. The police had to put in a lot of effort to disperse the crowd.
