Japanese automaker, Suzuki has introduced the new generation Swift hatchback in the home market. The all-new Suzuki Swift will also go on sale in our market in the first half of 2024. It comes with significantly revised styling and all-new interior along with new engine options.
1. Design Details
The new model retains the original styling or silhouette; however, it has received several new design elements. It features a sharper front fascia, featuring an all-new LED headlamps and a slightly smaller, aggressive grille. The hatchback features a conventional door handles instead of the C-pillar mounted door handles. It comes with new set of alloy wheels, new tailgate design with inverted C-shaped LED tail-lights, black bumper inserts and others.
2. Fronx-inspired interior
The new Suzuki Swift comes with all-new dashboard layout, which is heavily inspired from the new Fronx crossover and the Baleno hatchback. It features a new dual-tone black/beige interior scheme. The hatchback comes fitted with a flat-bottom steering wheel, toglle switches for climate controls, and analogue dials. The hatchback comes with analogue dials with MID, auto AC, keyless entry, and push-button start-stop, reverse parking camera, etc.
3. 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system
The all-new Suzuki Swift comes equipped with the brand’s new 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which we have already seen on the new Baleno, Fronx, Grand Vitara and the Brezza. The new touchscreen will be compatible with wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay.
4. Modified HEARTECT platform
The new-gen Swift is based on the heavily modified HEARTECT platform, which will also underpin the new gen Dzire sub-4 meter sedan. The company claims to have used lightweight, high-strength ultra-high tensile steel plates over a wide range of areas. The platform is lighter and highly rigid, which is claimed to have improved the overall performance & fuel efficiency.
5. New Engine Options
The new gen Suzuki Swift is offered with both petrol and hybrid petrol powertrains. It features a 1.2-litre, 12V, DOHC engine that is capable of producing 82bhp at 5700rpm and a peak torque of 108Nm at 4500rpm. The mild hybrid version comes with a DC synchronous motor, offering an additional power and torque outputs of 3.1bhp and 60Nm, respectively.
Transmission choices include a 5-speed manual and a new CVT automatic gearbox. It is expected that the India-spec model could also get an AMT option.
6. Fuel Efficiency
The hybrid version is claimed to offer a fuel efficiency of 24.5kmpl, while the regular model is rated at 23.4kmpl.

8. Plenty Of Storage Space
The new model comes with several easy-to-use storage spaces including glove box, center console tray, centre console dring holders, centre console drink holder in rear, front door pocket and rear door plastic bottle holder, etc. The hatchback offers a boot space of 265-litres, which can be further extended by folding the second-row seat. In terms of proportions, the hatchback is 3860mm in length, 1695mm in width and 1,500mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,450mm. Compared to the current model, the new Swift is 15mm longer, while the width and height reduced by 40mm and 30mm respectively.

10. Colour Options
The new Swift is offered with 7 single tone and 4 dual-tone colour options. The dual-tone colour options include Frontier Blue Pearl Metallic With Black roof, Burning Red Pearl Metallic with black roof, cool yellow metallic Ggun metallic 2 tone roof and pure white pearl gun metallic 2 tone roof.
