NEW DELHI: Delhi Capitals finally won the bidding war as they acquired the services of Australia’s Annabel Sutherland, who has a base price of Rs 40 lakh, for a whopping sum of Rs 2 crore in the 2024 WPL Auction in Mumbai on Saturday.

There was a massive war between Mumbai Indians and Delhi and the latter ultimately turned out to be the winner.
Phoebe Litchfield was the first player to go under the hammer in WPL Auction 2024. Gujarat Giants and UP Warriorz fiercely fought for the Australian all-rounder who has a base price of Rs 30 lakh. Gujarat ultimately sealed the deal and got the services of Litchfield for Rs 1 crore.
A total of 165 players have been registered in the 2024 Women’s Premier League (WPL) auction. The auction list includes 104 Indians and 61 overseas players, 15 of whom are from associate nations.
There are 30 slots available across the five teams, with nine reserved for international players.
