BSP president Mayawati has announced that her nephew Akash Anand will be her successor, party leaders said on Sunday.
The announcement was made during a party meeting for the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha polls. Party leaders present at the meeting said that the BSP chief has made Anand her successor and has given him the responsibility to strengthen the party in states outside Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

A party leader who was present at the meeting on Sunday said, “Our leader (Mayawati) has said that Akash Anand ji will be her successor in the future. She has also given him the responsibility to strengthen the party in states where the party is weak. She also said that she will continue to lead the party in UP and Uttarakhand, and Anand ji will lead the party in other states.”
