Deja vu! Harmanpreet Kaur suffers ‘unfortunate’ run out in one-off Test against England

NEW DELHI: In what appears to have not learned from her previous mistake, Indian women’s cricket team skipper Harmanpreet Kaur again suffered a run out in a bizarre manner during the first day of the One-off Test against England on Thursday.
Harmanpreet missed out on a fifty after being run out for 49 when her bat got struck just before crossing the crease, reminding the same incident of the T20 World Cup earlier this year where she got run out in the same fashion.
Harmanpreet attempted to slide her bat back inside the crease, but she failed to get it behind the line. The ball was swiftly returned to Amy Jones by Danni Wyatt at mid-off.

Talking about the match, debutantes Satheesh Shubha and Jemimah Rodrigues struck maiden half-centuries as did Yastika Bhatia and Deepti Sharma as India Women made a strong start to post 410/7 in 94 overs at stumps on Day 1 at the DY Patil Stadium on Thursday.
Shubha claimed the top score with 69 runs, closely followed by Jemimah with 68 in their inaugural match. Yastika also impressed, striking 66 off 88 balls in her third Test appearance.
The match between India and England unfolded as a thrilling cat-and-mouse game, with the visitors constantly pulling back the hosts whenever they attempted to gain the upper hand.
