Even before the YSRCP could recover from the impact of the first eviction list, the party is gearing up for another phase of candidate selection. Some YSRCP MLAs have conveyed to the leadership that they will not tolerate the denial of tickets based on surveys. It is anticipated that around 42 MLAs might be removed in the second list, including some prominent personalities.
AP Assembly Speaker Tammineni Sitaram’s name is speculated to be on the omission list, and he may not get the Amudalavalasa ticket this time. IT Minister Gudiwada Amarnath might be shifted from Anakapalli to Yelamanchali. The party is not inclined to give another chance to Minister Pinepe Vishwarup. YSRCP’s high command reportedly plans to move Home Minister Vanitha from Kovvur to Gopalapuram.
Actress-turned-politician and Minister RK Roja may face a challenging situation as she might not receive an Assembly ticket to contest from Nagiri. The party seems uninterested in fielding another Minister, Ushasri Charan, from the Kalyana Durgam segment. Gummanuri Jayaram aka Benz Minister, is expected to be the YSRCP candidate for the Kurnool Parliament seat.
After the results of the Telangana elections, there was turmoil within YSRCP, with a belief that the BRS lost in Telangana due to the continuation of MLAs facing public anger. However, many MLAs are questioning the possibility of being changed in majority positions, arguing that there is no opposition to them among the people. Counteractions are being prepared for such challenges.
