RCB IPL Auction Plan: ‘We have got a strong core…’: RCB reveal their strategy ahead of IPL auction | Cricket News

NEW DELHI: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) are set to focus on acquiring additional bowling options to support pace spearhead Mohammad Siraj during the upcoming IPL auctions, revealed You Bobatthe team’s Director of Cricket.
RCB have retained key players, including Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis, Glenn Maxwell, and Siraj, while releasing 11 players, including medium pacer Harshal Patel, leg spinner Wanindu Hasaranga, and quick Josh Hazlewood.
Bobat emphasized the importance of strengthening the bowling department, particularly supporting Mohammad Siraj, who is considered a core part of RCB’s strategy. The team is keen on securing additional bowling resources, including overseas options, to enhance their overall performance.”We have got a strong core of retaining players, and we have got a very powerful top order. Part of the decision-making that we had around our player release decisions was to try and strengthen the middle order, and bringing Cameron Green was a fantastic move,” said Bobat.
RCB recently traded Australian all-rounder Cameron Green from Mumbai Indians to reinforce their middle order, recognizing the need for balance in the team’s composition.
With a purse of Rs 40.75 crore and seven available slots, RCB aim to strategically build a well-rounded squad for the upcoming IPL season.

Bobat also highlighted the importance of fostering the right performance environment and culture within the team to allow players to showcase their capabilities.
“I am committed to a long-term project here. We have a fantastic captain in Faf, and an excellent group of senior players with the experience of Virat, Maxi (Maxwell), and DK (Dinesh Karthik). So the ingredients are really strong,” stated Bobat.
He emphasized the team’s commitment to creating a conducive environment where players can excel, play an aggressive brand of cricket, and entertain the fans. The focus on building a competitive and dynamic squad aligns with RCB’s goals for success in the upcoming IPL season.
