2024 IPL Teams Players List: Who got whom | Cricket News

NEW DELHI: Rajasthan Royals (RR) initiated the bidding for the West Indian power-hitter Rovman Powell, sparking a heated contest with the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). After a fierce back-and-forth, Royals ultimately secured Powell’s services, sealing the deal at a substantial Rs 7.40 crore at the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 auction in Dubai on Tuesday.

Powell, originally listed with a base price of Rs 1 crore, had been released by the Delhi Capitals, but his fortunes took a remarkable turn as he struck gold with this lucrative agreement.
England’s Harry Brook, who was bought by SRH for 13.25 crore in the last auction, has now been picked up by Delhi Capitals for Rs 4 crore. Australia’s World Cup final hero Travis Head sold to Sunrisers Hyderabad for Rs 6.8 crore.
The IPL governing council handed the franchise a list of 1166, and after all the franchises gave their wish-list, it was pruned to 333. Out of them, 214 are Indians, 119 are overseas, and two are from associate nations.
The 10 franchises can collectively spend up to Rs 262.95 crore.
Among the 77 slots available, 30 are earmarked for overseas, and Australians will once again be in demand, although the likes of World Cup-winning skipper Pat Cummins, ‘keeper Jos Inglis, star pacer Mitchell Starc are all in Rs 2 crore category. All eyes will be on New Zealand’s Rachin Ravindra, who has a modest base price of Rs 50 lakh.
Among the Indians, seamers Harshal Patel and Shardul Thakur along with veteran pacer Umesh Yadav are the three capped players who are in the highest base price bracket of Rs 2 crore.
