Stones Worshipped As Kuldevta Turn Out Dinosaur Eggs!

Padlya-Village-in-Dhar-District-Dinosaurs-Eggs-Worship

The rural regions of India still follow their traditional belief system and many villages have their own Gods that they worship. These deities specific to a particular place have been part of the religion for a long time. But for many people belonging to a village in Madhya Pradesh, a shocking revelation has brought forth very interesting facts about the deity they worshiped.

A team of researchers from Birbal Sahni Institute of Palaeosciences have found that the stone walls that the villagers of Padlya used to worship are actually dinosaur eggs. These fossils of dinosaur eggs have resulted in overturning the generation old practice of worshiping them.

The people of Padlya Village in Dhar district worshiped these stone balls as their ‘Kuldevta’, a practice common in many rural villages of the country. They were called as Kakar Bhairav which literally translates to lord of the land.

It is the first time that multi-shell eggs of a reptile have been discovered anywhere in the world. The location of the discovery is the place where Tethys Sea merged with the Narmada valley when Seychelles separated from the Indian mainland.
