Bollywood king Shah Rukh Khan is in full form with already two huge hits and he has released another much awaited movie “Dunki” as a hat trick movie. Let's see in the review whether this film that came in the combination of director Raj Kumar Hirani met the expectations of their combination.
Story:
Coming to the story…Manu (Taapsee), Buggu (Vikram Kochhar) and Bali (Anil Grover) from Lultu region of Punjab are Indians settled in London but they are not eligible to go back to their country. But one day Manu calls Hardy (Shah Rukh Khan) and tells him to meet in Dubai. And how did these four get to know each other? In fact, they plan with Hardy to settle in London. But why is he not with them? What will be the role of Sukhi (Vicky Kaushal) in their journey? Why do they all want to go out of India? If you want to know whether they have returned to their motherland or not, you have to watch this movie.
Plus Points:
First of all speaking for the actors, it should be said that every actress and actor who appeared in the main lead gave a good performance. Shahrukh Khan and Taapsee Pannu also gave one of their career best performances in Danki with good chemistry. Also the tender love story between the two is moving. And the emotions between them are also very good.
Along with them, Vikram Kochhar and Anil Grover also performed well in their roles. Along with them, Boman Irani and others also performed well. Along with them, another main highlight is Vicky Kaushal. Although he looks limited, his role seems very effective.
He played his character very naturally. The emotional block designed by Hirani on him also impresses. Some hilarious scenes in the movie entertain. Also the emotions in the second half are some twists and the climax is also impressive. Along with this, the small message given by the director is also good.
Minus Points:
Generally those who are familiar with Rajkumar Hirani films will watch the film with certain expectations, but they may not be completely satisfied with this film. Hirani took a lot of time to get into the main line.
The narration before that some comedy scenes are good but overall it doesn't feel in a range. Also the story doesn't feel new. The story is similar to Hirani's 3 Idiots in the case of Hero.
Also, the ending given to Vicky Kaushal's character would have been better if it had ended in a more natural way. Apart from that, Shah Rukh Khan's young look lacks naturalness in some places. Technical errors are seen at some places. Besides, some scenes are predictable.
Technical category:
The production values in this film are not bad. In the technical team, the music work cinematography is good. Also the comedy writing is good. Some of the one liner comedy dialogues are good. Also, VFX should be done better in some scenes. Editing also needs to be better.
When it comes to director Rajkumar Hirani, he has chosen a decent plot based on some real life incidents. Also handled it well but took time to get into his mark emotions. This makes the narration a bit dull. Also, the narration was conducted regularly. With these it does not feel its range work but it feels ok.
Verdict:
Overall, the roles of Vicky Kaushal, Taapsee and Shahrukh Khan in the movie “Dunki” are pleasing. Also good hilarious narration with some comedy scenes, good emotions in the second half. Otherwise, if you expect a movie of his range from Rajkumar Hirani, you will be slightly deviated, but for this weekend, Danki will move those who want to watch an entertaining emotional drama, even if it is a little slow.
