Various programs are also organized across the country on the occasion of Farmers' Day. A special day is celebrated to mark the Jaynemitta of the fifth Prime Minister of India and farmer's Kaiwari Late Chaudhary Charan Singh.

What is the history of National Farmers Day?

India is an agricultural country. Agriculture is the main means of livelihood of more than 50 percent of people in our country. Therefore, National Farmers Day is celebrated on 23rd December to honor and express gratitude to farmers and to create awareness about agriculture in the country.

To tell the history of National Farmers' Day, it was announced in 2001 to celebrate the National Farmers' Day on the occasion of the birthday of former Prime Minister Late Chaudhary Charan Singh and in his memory.

What is National Farmers' Day celebrated?

Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh made special efforts to improve the condition of farmers in India. Hence, he is credited with improving the condition of farmers. Chaudhary Charan Singh himself was from a farmer family and he was well aware of the problems and conditions of the farmers, so he did many things to improve the condition of the farmers.

We have to accept that due to the hard work of the farmers, food is brought to the plate of the common people and it is because of the farmers that today we are eating two grains of happiness.
