Hindi-Box-Office-Salar-Day-3--Day1

The Hindi box office had two new theatrical debutants last weekend with the arrival of Dunki and Salaar. Neither of the films could unanimously set the box office on fire this Christmas weekend but both of them have fared reasonably well.

Salaar saw very healthy growth on its first Sunday as it collected a nett of Rs 20.50 crore. It saw a 30% hike from Saturday collections. The hike is bigger than Dunki’s in the Hindi belt.

Salaar’s 3rd day is bigger than the opening day collections of the film in the Hindi belt, which was Rs 15.50 crore on 1st day. The positive surge on Sunday resulted in Rs 51 crore nett for the film.

Dunki had a Rs 30 crore Sunday which is fine for a film of its genre but not for an SRK-Hirani film. It is continuing to post mediocre numbers, considering the combination that is involved.

With today being the Christmas holiday, the films are likely to get a positive uplift. There are a few planned holidays this week from corporate employees and this could help the cause further.
