The newly launched Honda Elevate mid-sized SUV has been receiving an overwhelming response from car buyers in India. The Japanese car manufacturer will also launch the SUV in home market, where it will be called the Honda WR-V. This SUV will make its public debut at the Tokyo Auto Salon in March, 2024. Honda will also showcase the rugged-looking Honda Elevate or WR-V Field Explorer Edition at the event.

The new Field Explorer concept previews a robust & rugged-looking variant of the Honda Elevate (WR-V), which comes with visual changes and several add-ons. The big changes comes in the form of styling, featuring an all-black grille. The “H” logo is now replaced with HONDA lettering. Moreover, the company has completely removed the chrome elements from the front fascia.

The all-LED headlamps of the WR-V Field Explorer concept also get blacked-out treatment. The same black treatment is visible on the fog lamp surrounds and the central lower air dam. A tripple yellow LED light treatment is added on the top of the grille and similar tiny yellow lights are also incorporated in the fog lamps.

The side profile of the Honda WR-V Field Explorer concept has gloss black finished alloy wheels and prominent side body moulding. It also comes with a roof rack and modified roof rails. The company has not revealed the rear profile, but it is likely to get similar black treatment on the lower bumper and on the tailgate. It is also expected to feature a blacked-out effect for the LED tail-lamps.

Honda has already sold 20,000 units of the Elevate mid-sized in India within the first 100 days since its launch. The SUV is powered by a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine that produces 121PS and 145Nm of torque. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual and a CVT automatic. Available at a starting price of Rs 10.99 lakh, the Elevate directly rivals the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, VW Taigun & Skoda Kushaq.
