The Hindi box office saw two theatrical debuts this Christmas in the form of Salaar and Dunki. While neither have taken Hindi box office by storm, they are still managing to post notable numbers.
After Christmas day, Tuesday Salaar managed to perform on par with Dunki. A South star’s film performing on par with superstar SRK’s film in the Hindi belt in competition is a very good sign.
Salaar collected Rs 9.50 crore nett on Tuesday while Dunki collected Rs 10 crore nett. The numbers are identical.
Salaar’s Hindi tally stands at Rs 76 crore now and it is set for a Rs 96-97 crore opening weekend. This is a good number considering the inexistent promotional campaign in Hindi.
Dunki’s tally stands at Rs 133 crore. This film is trending well in metro cities and A centers while Salaar is outperforming Dunki in mass belts.
If the current trend continues, Salaar will be beating Dunki on day-to-day collections in the Hindi belt. The Prabhas film has no support from other South states apart from AP and TS, so the Hindi revenues are very important for its final tally.
