Big movie stars’ new films are like big festivals in Telugu states. Fans start gathering outside the theaters way before the movie starts.
They dance, put up big pictures of the actors, and even do a special ritual where they pour milk on these pictures. Most of this happens during late-night or early-morning shows.
But for the past few years, this hasn’t been happening in Telugu states. The previous government in Telangana, led by KCR, didn’t allow these mid-night shows.
However, with the new government led by Congress, CM Revanth Reddy has given the green light for such shows even for medium-range movies like Kalyan Ram’s “Devil.”
Now, there are early morning shows for “Devil” in Hyderabad at theaters like Brahmaramba, Sai Ranga, Lakshmikala, Cine Town Karmanghat, Sri Sai Ram Malkajgir, and Prasads.
In the neighboring state of Andhra Pradesh, CM YS Jagan hasn’t allowed these late-night or early-morning shows.
People are hoping that if there’s a change in government next year, the fun cinema culture of Telugu people will come back to Andhra as well, just like in Telangana.
