Ayodhya case litigant showers petals during PM’s roadshow | Lucknow News

AS RESIDENTS of Ayodhya lined the streets to welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his nearly 15-km long road show on a chilly Saturday morning, among them was Iqbal Ansari, a litigant in the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid title suit.

Iqbal Ansari, 56, whose father Hashim Ansari was also a litigant in the case, was seen holding red roses to shower petals on the PM. Ansari said the verdict has “long been accepted”.

“The case finished on November 9, 2019. Muslims across the country respected and accepted the verdict. All that is in the past… It’s over now. Today, the Prime Minister visited our town and people of my mohalla were standing to welcome him so I also joined them,” Ansari said.

Meanwhile, on his way back from Ayodhya Dham Railway Station to the Ayodhya airport to address a public meeting, Prime Minister Modi paid a surprise visit to the house of Meera Manjhi, who according to government officials is the 10th crore beneficiary of the the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana.

The PM spent nearly 15 minutes at the house and was seen signing an autograph to a child.

Festive offer

Later in the day, Meera was given an Ayushman card. Ayodhya District Magistate Nitish Kumar and Divisional Commissioner Gaurav Dayal went to Meera’s house to deliver her the card under the Jan Arogya Yojna. Dayal informed that the card has been provided following instructions from the Chief Minister’s Office.
