Biggest Of 2024: Tollywood Rule Returns?

The Indian film industry experienced a remarkable 2023, marked by record-breaking performances at the box office with films like Jawan, Pathaan, Animal, Gadar 2, and Salaar breaking many records. As we approach the New Year, the cinematic landscape is already buzzing with excitement, with several highly anticipated movies slated for release in 2024.

Leading the pack is the highly awaited Part II of Allu Arjun’s starrer “Pushpa: The Rule.” The film, set to hit theaters on August 15, 2024, has garnered significant attention since the release of its first look. It has a stellar cast, including Rashmika Mandanna, Fahadh Faasil, and Prakash Raj, and is poised for success. Unless the film goes horribly wrong, the film is a sure shot 1000-crore grosser.

Rohit Shetty’s “Singham Again” brings back Ajay Devgn and Kareena Kapoor in their iconic roles. With a star-studded cast, including Deepika Padukone, Tiger Shroff, Akshay Kumar, and Ranveer Singh, it’s slated for an Independence Day 2024 release. As of now, it is going to clash with Pushpa 2. Let’s hope things don’t turn as nasty as they turned during the Salaar Vs. Dunki clash.

Another standout film is the sci-fi dystopian drama “Kalki 2898 AD,” often referred to as the desi version of Dune. Boasting an ensemble cast comprising Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Dulquer Salmaan, expectations are high for this 2024 release. However, it might get postponed to next year due to the heavy VFX work.

“Devara: Part 1” marks Janhvi Kapoor’s debut in the Telugu film industry opposite Jr NTR. Scheduled for an April 5, 2024 release, the action thriller, directed by Koratala Siva, features Saif Ali Khan, Prakash Raj, and others in pivotal roles. Notably, it will be released in multiple languages, making it a significant pan-India project.

Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff’s Bade Miyan Chote Miyan will clash with NTR’s Devara. Ali Abbas Zafar is gearing up to unveil the first teaser of his ambitious action thriller, “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan,” also featuring Prithviraj Sukumaran on the Republic Day, with the film eyeing an Eid 2024 release.

Shankar’s “Indian 2,” a sequel to the 1996 blockbuster “Indian,” is set to grace theaters on April 12, 2024. Starring Kamal Haasan, the film explores themes of corruption and injustice.

A major highlight is the Telugu political action thriller “Game Changer,” directed by S. Shankar. With a staggering budget of INR 400 crore, it features Ram Charan, Kiara Advani, and an extensive ensemble cast. Expected to release in September 2024, it marks Shankar’s directorial debut in Telugu cinema.

The much-anticipated “Welcome 3” is set to hit screens during Christmas 2024. Directed by Ahmed Khan, the film features an extensive star cast including Akshay Kumar, Suneil Shetty, Paresh Rawal, Sanjay Dutt, Raveena Tandon, Jacqueline Fernandez, Disha Patani, and many more. It is the biggest star-cast film of 2024.

Siddharth Anand’s “Fighter,” scheduled for release on January 25, 2024, is generating buzz for its action-packed storyline. Starring Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone, and Anil Kapoor, the film has already created a stir with its teaser and two hot songs.

Adding to the excitement is “Kantara: Chapter 1,” a prequel to the 2022 film “Kantara.” Directed by Rishab Shetty, the film, set to release in seven languages, features Rishab Shetty and Sapthami Gowda in lead roles.

There are a few more films that might surprise like Kanguva, Hanuman, Viswambhara, Vidaa Muyarchi, Thalapathy 68, Vettaiyan, and others.
