Hyderabad gears up for New Year’s Eve with strict traffic regulations. The Cyberabad Traffic Police has announced measures to ensure safety during celebrations. The Outer Ring Road (ORR) will be closed for most light vehicles, except those bound for RGI Airport and PVNR Expressway between 10 pm and 5 am. Key flyovers and bridges, such as Shilpa Layout, Gachibowli, and Mindspace, will be entirely closed from 11 pm to 5 am.
Drivers of cabs, taxis, and auto-rickshaws are reminded to wear proper uniforms and carry all required documents. Refusal to take passengers may result in a Rs. 500 penalty. The public is encouraged to report such incidents via WhatsApp.
Bars, pubs, and clubs are warned against allowing customers to drive under the influence of alcohol, with strict legal consequences for non-compliance. The police will conduct thorough checks for drunk driving across Cyberabad, leading to license suspension for offenders. Stringent actions will be taken against violations like rash driving, speeding, honking, and dangerous driving.
